Ted Lauer is a SVP, with Reston, VA based Access National Bank, a business-lending focused bank serving small to lower-middle-market local businesses. Ted is responsible for Access National’s Leveraged Finance initiatives, including funding acquisitions and organic growth, ESOP finance, and SBIC teaming. Ted has, in his 30 year career, been in various lending and management positions, most notably with Crestar Bank, Maryland National, Patriot National, and since 1999, with Access National Bank as a co-founder. Ted was in charge of SBA Lending at Patriot, the largest producing SBA 7a lender in the Washington area 1992-1996, and leveraged that experience to spearhead a similar program at Access National. Ted’s contributions to assisting small businesses were recognized by the SBA naming him the 2010 Financial Services Champion for Small Business for the Metropolitan Washington area. Access National was the largest dollar volume lender for the 7a program in the SBA’s Metropolitan Washington District for 2010 and 2011. In late 2011 Ted was on SBA’s national task-force to overhaul its CAPLine line of credit program. Ted holds Bachelor’s in Economics and MBA from Wake Forest University.
